Embracing Destiny Foundation (EDF) affords preadolescent to adolescent children an alternative to living in an unsafe and/or unwelcomed environment.  Many of America’s youth welfare systems are: poorly maintained; badly broken and as a result, can reposition children to re-suffer serious harm and/or fall through the fault-lines of our system(s). More to, it is injurious enough these children will temporarily/indefinitely experience separation from their familiar environment, the immediate/distant family. While others will experience the unfortunate nomadic circumstances of displacement, from one foster care placement to another, never knowing when their lives will be uprooted next. Too many will experience further abuse in systems that are constructed to ultimately protect them. Furthermore, instead of being safely reunified with their families will be moved quickly into adoptive homes, as others will languish for years in foster homes or institutions.
